
A beautiful Victorian bohemian garnet pendant, it has the juiciest deep red garnets set into a gold plated setting. Pyrobe garnets were frequently used in the late 19th centurey Czechoslovakian and German jewellery in pave set clusters of facetted stones. These were known as Bohemian garnets and were generally set in low grade gold or gilt metal. Garnet is known as the birthstone of January. It is also known as the gemstone of commitment and love. The pendant features a central oval garnet surrounded by two further rows of faceted garnets. Approx measurements: Pendant height 2.5cm without bale, 3.3cm with bale, width 2.3cm.
